Leeds United have still not reached an agreement with Marcelo Bielsa over becoming their new manager, according to a reliable journalist.

Phil Hay, from the Yorkshire Evening Post, says that while both sides seem positive about moving forward, the talks "can't go on indefinitely".

He also highlighted one issue, claiming that the time difference between Leeds and the Argentine manager wasn't helping the negotiations.

Football Insider verdict:

Leeds fans will be getting very itchy. There was always talk that Bielsa could just pull out of the deal at any time and while there's no hint of that yet, the talks are definitely dragging on. Leeds fans were hoping for an announcement yesterday, although to be fair to Leeds that hasn't come from them. They've been completely tight lipped since Paul Heckingbottom was sacked. One thing that seems strange is that the time difference is getting in the way of negotiations. If they're as close as the reports say they are, you'd think that they might meet face-to-face to thrash out the final details. One good piece of news is that the financials seem to be in place. That would mean that they're debating the control Bielsa will have over the club. That could possibly mean they're talking about a reduced role for director of football Victor Orta. He's not the most popular figure with the fans and if they think he's scuppered this deal, that will get much, much worse.
