Leeds United are not looking at Steve McClaren as their new manager, according to a reliable journalist. Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Monday morning, after heavy speculation surrounding McClaren. McClaren was spotted in the director's box during the game against Cardiff on Saturday and he is the cl

for the job. However, according to Hay, he is not the man that Leeds have got lined up.

Manager Thomas Christiansen was sacked on Sunday night after a terrible run of form from his side had left their play-off hopes dangling on a thread. The 4-1 home defeat against Cardiff was the final straw for the club as they now seek a new manager to lead them back to the Premier League. Leeds are currently seven points off the play-off spots and play eighth-placed Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime in the 12.30pm kick-off. In other Leeds news,
