Celtic are on the verge of agreeing to loan defender Mark Hill to Kilmarnock, according to a report.

The

claim the former Hamilton player, 19, is set for a temporary spell at Rugby Park in order to gain crucial first-team experience.

It is said that Celtic are ready to give the green light for Hill to make the same move as that made by Kristoffer Ajer, who spent the second half of last season at Kilmarnock before returning to Parkhead.

Right-back Hill, who can also play on the right side of midfield, joined Celtic five years ago after demonstrating his immense potential by appearing for Hamilton in a reserve match at the remarkably young age of 13.

He is yet to make a senior Hoops appearance but is a mainstay of their youth teams and is highly regarded at Parkhead.

The teenager, who committed to a new three-year contract in May, started Celtic's pre-season friendly against Lyon last month.
