Free agent Hal Robson-Kanu attended West Ham's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday - prompting speculation he could he headed to east London.

The ex-Reading striker is without a club after running down his contract at The Madjeski Stadium, which expired in June.

Robson-Kanu was a part of the shock Wales team who reached the last four at Euro 2016 and scored a memorable goal in the famous quarter-final win over Belgium, after a neat Cruyff turn in the box before calmly finishing.

Sat among fans at Stamford Bridge, he posted a photo on his personal Twitter account while at Stamford Bridge on Monday night and wished both teams the best.

The Daily Star claimed in July that Villa were keen on signing the striker but would face competition from neighbours West Brom and Scottish giants Celtic.

Towards the end of the month Sky Sports News reported that Atletico Madrid and Europa League champions Sevilla had joined the race for the Welshman and had contacted his representatives.

West Ham have been searching for a striker to partner Andy Carroll all summer, and last week signed Andre Ayew for a club record £20.5million fee.

However, Ayew was injured in their clash with Chelsea and Robson-Kanu could be the answer to their striker crisis.
