After reported shattering blow, these are next three Rangers rising stars destined for top
COMMENT
Rangers star Ross McCrorie could be forced to miss the rest of the season after the foot injury which has kept him out since December failed to respond to treatment, according to a report. According to the reliable
blog, the 19-year-old could face surgery to repair the problem. McCrorie burst into the first-team in September and made himself a key part of the side before injury forced him out of action. Gers fans are understandably devastated to see the homegrown star's season ended with this reported shattering blow, after a series of fantastic performances in both midfield and defence. The Scottish youth international is the most prominent recent graduate from the club's Academy as the Light Blues put a great emphasis on producing top quality homegrown talent. A number of other Auchenowie youngsters have stepped into the first-team on recent months with Myles Beerman, Jamie Barjonas, Aidan Willson and Kyle Bradley all handed first-team debuts. David Bates has also stepped up from the Gers' Under-20's side to make himself a first-team regular with the 21-year-old a fixture in the starting XI in 2018 so far. Here,

Glenn Middleton
The Scottish youth international only joined the Gers last month from Norwich City and has the potential to go a long way. Canaries fans were gutted to see Middleton allowed to leave Carrow Road and join Rangers and the winger could find himself in the first-team squad before too long. The skillful winger has a lot of talented players ahead of him in the first-team squad but Middleton has the ability to force his way into the reckoning for a place. Middleton will benefit from playing in the club's games programmes against the likes of Manchester United and Huddersfield Town as he looks to establish himself at Ibrox.

Robby McCrorie
Goalkeeper Robby McCrorie is a strong bet to be Wes Foderingham's long-term replacement between the sticks at Ibrox and join twin Ross in the Gers starting XI. The shot-stopper has spent the season on loan with League Two Berwick and has picked up seven man of the match awards so far for the Shielfield minnows as he gains first-team experience. Robby has long been tipped for the top and was chased by the likes of Manchester United earlier in his teens. Alongside Ross, Robby signed a new deal earlier this season to keep him with the Gers until 2022.

Serge Atakayi
Serge Atakayi is another attacker who could find himself in Graeme Murty's first-team squad as the season progresses. The jet-heeled starlet was part of the group who travelled to Florida over the winter break and played in the friendly wins over Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro. Atakayi was in fantastic goal-scoring form for the Gers' under-20's last year and while he's not been as prolific recently, the Congolese winger is a massive prospect for the Light Blues. After playing first-team football in Finland before moving to Ibrox and could find that an advantage as he tries to force his way into Graeme Murty's plans. In other Rangers news,
