Revealed: Arsenal 'happy' to sell Kieran Tierney to Newcastle United soon - sources

Arsenal's Kieran Tierney is set to make a final decision on his future in the coming weeks with Newcastle United ready to sign the left-back, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed Gunners source has revealed that they are "happy to sell" the 25-year-old in the upcoming summer window.

Newcastle are long-term admirers of Tierney and are now pushing to make him part of their squad for the 2023-24 campaign.

It is believed that Arsenal value the Scotland international at £30million as they plot big-money summer business of their own.

Tierney was a bit-part player for the Gunners and Mikel Arteta as they challenged Man City for the Premier League title in the 2022-23 campaign.

Even a late-season injury to Oleksandr Zinchenko didn't provide an opportunity for the left-back, with natural centre-back Jakub Kiwior instead filling in on the left side of a four-man defence for the final two games of the season.

Tierney, who joined Arsenal for a reported £25million from Celtic in 2019, made 36 appearances across all competitions this term - notching one goal and two assists.

According to FBRef, the Scotland international earns £110,000-a-week at the Emirates Stadium - with that deal set to expire in June 2026.

Newcastle will have Champions League football to offer to transfer targets this summer.

The Magpies secured a fourth-place finish this term and will return to Europe's premier club competition for the first time since the 2002-03 season.

Eddie Howe's side are keen to improve on current left-back Dan Burn, who arrived at the club as a centre-back last season.

They are also looking to add an attacking midfielder in the summer window.
