Leeds United have told defender Lucas Odunston to find a new club in the next few weeks, Football Insider understands.

The 18-year-old is out of contract at Elland Road at the end of the season as the two-year scholarship deal he signed in May 2017 is set to expire.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that the club have no plans to offer Odunston a professional contract and he will be free to secure new employers.

There is already interest in the academy product from Championship rivals Hull City and they are investigating the prospect of a swoop for the youngster.

Odunston joined the Leeds scholarship ranks 23 months ago among an intake of eight youngsters and at the same time as first-team sensation Jack Clarke.

The teenage right-back has suffered from injury during his time at Thorp Arch and been unable to make the same remarkable progress as Clarke.
