Revealed: Three men quit Leeds United as documents emerge
Leeds United have confirmed four major boardroom changes at Elland Road this week, Football Insider can reveal.
The Whites filed four new submissions to Companies House on Thursday (12 October) that included three terminations and one new appointment.
Sandro Mencucci, Massimo Marinelli and Andrea Radrizzani have all had their positions on the Leeds board terminated, while Rudolph Cline-Thomas has been assigned as a new director.
While the four Companies House filings were submitted on 12 October, their terminations date back to the 25 September.
Cline-Thomas joined Leeds in the summer as the new vice-chairman following the club’s takeover from 49ers Enterprises.
He has previously worked closely with Paraag Marathe - the president of the 49ers’ Enterprises who has succeeded Radrizzani as chairman at Leeds.
Leeds is not Cline-Thomas’ first venture into football investment, with the US businessman also a co-owner of the Hapoel Tel Aviv Football Club in Israel.
The four new changes at boardroom level represent a busy summer of transition for the Yorkshire club following the £170million takeover deal with the 49ers.
Despite Radrizzani’s removal as director at Leeds, he remains the majority shareholder of Elland Road’s parent company.
As revealed by Football Insider on Tuesday (10 October), the 49ers’ have begun the process of buying stakes in Elland Road but are still only minority shareholders.
As a result, Leeds are still paying £1.7million per year in rent payment towards Radrizzani in order to use Elland Road as their home stadium.
