Chris Sutton destroys midfielder during Rangers draw against Partick

Chris Sutton dubbed Partick Thistle midfielder Ryan Edwards a "coward" on BT Sport for his brutal challenge on Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack in Friday night's 2-2 draw at Firhill.
Jack was left writhing around in pain following the stamp from from the 23-year-old which went unpunished - and seemingly unseen - by referee Willie Collum.
In a pulsating clash, Edwards got off scot free but his goalscoring teammate Chris Erskine was not so fortunate as he was given his marching orders after 67 minutes for his challenge on Alfredo Morelos.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is renowned for his outspoken verdicts and he did not hold back in his condemnation of Edwards for his challenge which left Jack in evident pain.
He told BT Sport's live coverage of the match on Friday night: "It's an easy red card, ridiculous. He goes over the top. It's a coward's challenge. It's a stamp on to his leg.
"How does Willie Collum not see that? You don't tackle like that in that situation."
Partick claimed afterwards that Edwards' tackle was not malicious and the Rangers central midfielder was able to continue after treatment.
However, Jack was substituted after 63 minutes when he was replaced by summer signing Carlos Pena.
A late goal from Graham Dorrans secured a share of the points for Pedro Caixinha's side after Alfredo Morelos' eighth goal of the season had been cancelled out by two Partick strikes.
