Paul Robinson has claimed there is "no chance" of West Ham allowing Maxwel Cornet to leave next year.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one predicted the 26-year-old will be "a big part" of David Moyes' side for years to come.

The Hammers signed Cornet from Burnley for a fee of £17.5million in the summer.

West Ham

The winger has impressed in his nine appearances for the club prior to injury.

According to German publication BILD (14 October), Wolfsburg are keen to bring Cornet to Germany in the January transfer window.

Cornet has five years remaining on his contract at the London Stadium.

When asked by Football Insider if Cornet could exit so soon into his Irons career, Robinson issued a two-word verdict: "No chance.

"He has started really well. He has not started a bucketload of games but when he has played I have been really impressed.

"I like him as a player. He has shown what he can do and I'm sure he will continue to when he returns from injury.

West Ham

"I think Cornet will be a big part of West Ham for years to come in all honesty. Yes, they have a lot of talent in that area of the pitch but Cornet brings something different.

"I watched a lot of him at Burnley. He is a goal threat. I cannot see West Ham allowing him to leave."
