Marko Arnautovic is set to be available for West Ham's League Cup clash against Tottenham on Wednesday after missing the weekend draw at Leicester due to illness, Football Insider sources understand.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider the star forward, 29, is recovering well and is in line to make his return for the 7.45pm kick-off at London Stadium on Wednesday night.

Manuel Pellegrini is eager for Arnautovic to spearhead the attack against his club's bitter rivals from north London.

West Ham drew 1-1 at Leicester on Saturday without the Austrian powerhouse as Javier Hernandez stepped in to spearhead the attack before being replaced by Michail Antonio for the final half-hour.

Tottenham will regard Arnautovic, who has scored 15 goals in 43 matches for West Ham since joining from Stoke in the summer of 2017, as the biggest danger to their hopes of progressing in the competition.

He is the Hammers' top scorer with four goals from eight league matches this season and has developed into one of the best all-round forwards in the Premier League.
