Arsenal striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has agreed a deal to join Cheltenham Town on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

Butler-Oyedeji, who was named on the bench for Mikel Arteta's first-team last season, is to be loaned out so that he can regular first-team action this season.

He has been given the green light to complete a deadline-day move to Cheltenham after multiple loan offers were tabled from EFL clubs.

The 20-year-old had his first experience of senior football during a loan spell at Accrington Stanley during the second half of last season and he will spend this season out on loan at League One Cheltenham.

On 29 August, Football Insider revealed that Portsmouth and Cambridge United were racing to sign the attacker.

Butler-Oyedeji has been with the Gunners for over ten years and made the step up to the Under-21s side in 2021.

The young forward is yet to feature for the first team but has featured heavily at youth level, making 18 appearances for the Under-21s last term.

Butler-Oyedeji has already experienced some first team football with Accrington Stanley after spending the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan there.

So far this term the attacker has made four appearances for the young Gunners and has already found the back of the net.

Cheltenham are in desperate need for reinforcements as they look to force themselves off the bottom of the League One table.

The club have earned just one point from their opening five matches this term.
