West Ham have scheduled talks with David Moyes to extend his current deal, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that the club are expected to speak to the Scotsman after the January transfer window.

Moyes's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but it is believed that he is very likely to pen new terms and extend his second spell at the London Stadium.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Moyes is "relaxed" regarding his current deal, but many clubs are willing to offer the 60-year-old a job.

Following his Europa Conference League victory last season, he has guided the Hammers into the knock-out stages of the Europa League and has them in contention to finish in the top six of the Premier League once again.

He remains controversial among the West Ham fanbase, with many eager for a progressive manager to build on Moyes' success from next season.

However, the hierarchy - despite leaving extension talks late - are confident in his ability and happy with the progression of the team following their heavy summer recruitment.

Declan Rice's £105million move to Arsenal was used to finance new stars including Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse - all of whom have flourished in Stratford.

Moyes also remains a key figure in the Irons' winter recruitment drive, with sources telling Football Insider (20 January) that he is “pushing” the club’s board and director of football Tim Steidten to sign Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
