Bournemouth are in advanced talks to sign Ryan Fredericks from West Ham, Football Insider understands.

Fredericks will be a free agent when his contract at the London Stadium expires at the end of this month.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth are closing in on reaching an agreement for Fredericks.

The 29-year-old has been the subject of strong interest from multiple other clubs including Fulham.

But Bournemouth boss Scott Parker is winning the race to land the right-back on a free transfer and beat his old club to a deal.

The pair played together at Fulham between 2015 and 2017 before Parker retired as a player.

Fredericks left Craven Cottage a year later to join West Ham on a free transfer just before Parker rejoined the club as a coach.

Bournemouth are in the market for a new right-back this summer with Jack Stacey and Adam Smith sharing the role as they finished runners-up in the Championship in the 2021-22 season.

They brought in Ethan Laird on loan from Man United in January but he failed to nail down a regular starting spot.

Fredericks played 77 times across all competitions for the Hammers but found himself behind Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal by the end of the 2021-22 season.

The defender, who can also play at left-back, featured 15 times, including eight starts, across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign.

He played five times as West Ham reached the Europa League semi-final, including the full 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Lyon in the first leg of the quarter-final.
