Brentford are expected to make another approach for Omari Hutchinson now Bryan Mbeumo's transfer has been confirmed, sources have told Football Insider.

Mbeumo completed his move to Manchester United on Monday after the Bees accepted a £71million bid.

Keith Andrews' side are eyeing Hutchinson as a replacement for the departing winger, but recently had a £35m offer rejected by Ipswich Town.

The bid actually reached the release clause in the 21-year-old's contract, but because it didn't include the full amount upfront, Ipswich were able to turn it down, and the clause has now expired.

Brentford to make new approach for Hutchinson

Despite failing to trigger his relegation release clause, sources say that Brentford are still keen to bring in Hutchinson, and are expected to make another offer.

However, Ipswich are now free to demand whatever price they want for their star winger, and it will likely take a fee well over the £35m it would have originally cost to secure a deal.

Last season, Hutchinson started 30 Premier League games for the Tractor Boys as they were relegated back down to the Championship.

The England Under-21 international showed glimpses of talent, scoring three goals and picking up two assists, and Brentford now want to give him another chance in the top flight.

Brentford fight to keep star forward

Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Brentford want to try and price interested clubs out of a move for Wissa.

Wissa, 28, has attracted attention from the likes of Tottenham and Nottingham Forest over the summer transfer window.

Forest have already had a £22m bid for the attacker rejected by the West London side.

Sources say that clubs will be forced to pay over £50m to secure the services of the DR Congo international.
