Chelsea are plotting a move for Everton teenage sensation Ishé Samuels-Smith, Football Insider understands.

Samuels-Smith, 16, is regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in the country and is an England Under-17 international.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Chelsea have been keeping tabs on left-back Samuels-Smith for some time and they are keen to lure him away from Goodison Park to Stamford Bridge.

He only turned 16 last month (5 June) and will therefore have to wait a year until signing professional terms at a club.

Despite his tender age, Samuels-Smith was a regular for Everton's Under-18s side in 2021-22 who progressed to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup.

He featured in 18 games across all competitions last term, including playing the full 90 minutes of all three of their FA Youth Cups.

A natural left-back, Samuels-Smith can also play at centre-back and right-back.

The Toffees will be keen to keep hold of the England youth international after losing another highly-rated young left-back within the last 12 months.

Thierry Small, who turns 18 next month, became the club's youngest ever player in an FA Cup in January 2021 but quit Goodison Park last summer (2021) for Southampton.

Down on the south coast, the England Under-18 international made his senior debut for the club in the same competition earlier this year (5 February) as the Saints beat Coventry City 2-1 in the fourth round.
