Crystal Palace could now move for Southampton striker Che Adams in the final days of the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Eagles are on the hunt for striking reinforcements following the loss of talisman Wilfried Zaha to Galatasaray at the end of his contract.

The Foxes are believed to want around £15million for the Nigeria international.

Everton looked primed to sign Adams earlier this month after firming up their interest in the Scotland international, but have since turned attention to completing a deal for Udinese striker Beto.

But a well-placed source has revealed that a potential Crystal Palace move for the Scotland international could be "one to watch" in what would be a shock twist with the transfer deadline just days away.

Both players have less than one year left to run on their respective contracts following the relegations of Southampton and Leicester to the Championship.

Adams has already scored three goals in three league games for Southampton this term but was absent from their 2-1 win over QPR on Saturday (26 August).

Speaking post-match and quoted by the Southern Daily Echo, Saints boss Russell Martin insisted the forward hasn't "downed tools" but wasn't in the right place to take to the field amid ongoing speculation about a potential move.

Martin also confirmed Southampton have offered Adams a renewed contract.

The former Sheffield United man joined the south coast club in 2019 and has managed 25 goals and 14 assists in 124 Premier League games.

Adams has also amassed 23 caps for Scotland, hitting six goals.
