Everton have made an approach to sign Fernando Llorente from Napoli, Football Insider can reveal.

The Toffees are making a move to sign the 35-year-old with Moise Kean set to seal his exit from Goodison Park ahead of tomorrow night's transfer deadline.

Football Insider understands that a deal has been agreed with Paris Saint-Germain for Kean to move to the Parc de Princes on a season-long loan.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to recruit a replacement before the window shuts with Llorente on the list of the club's targets.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that contact has been made with the Spanish centre-forward's representatives over a potential move to Merseyside.

He has just one year left on his contract in Italy and is unlikely to get game time at the San Paolo Stadium this season following the big-money arrival of Victor Osimhen.

Llorente was signed by Napoli while Ancelotti was manager of the Serie A giants in September 2019.

In 24 appearances for the Italian side, of which only four were starts, he has contributed four goals and one assist.

He has scored 17 goals in 69 previous Premier League appearances following spells at Tottenham and Swansea, while he has also scored seven goals in 24 appearances for the Spanish national side.

Ancelotti is keen to bolster his squad despite a blistering start to the 2020/21 campaign - the Toffees the only side in England undefeated in all competitions this season.

Football Insider understands that Ben Godfrey is set to sign a five-year contract on Merseyside to complete his £25million move from Norwich City.

The signings of Godfrey and Llorente would take Everton's spending past the £50million mark this summer following the arrivals of Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Niels Nkounkou and James Rodriguez earlier in the window.
