Fulham forward Aboubakar Kamara has turned down a move to Middlesbrough and is set to sign for French side Djion, Football Insider understands.

However, a recruitment source has now told Football Insider that the striker has rejected a move to the Riverside and is instead set to join Dijon on loan.

Kamara started Fulham’s first three Premier League fixtures of the season but has since found himself used only as an impact substitute.

The arrival and form of Ademola Lookman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have limited the French forward to just eight substitute appearances in the league since October.

His last start for the Cottagers came in a disappointing 3-0 FA Cup defeat against Burnley earlier this month.

Kamara arrived to Craven Cottage from Amiens in July 2017 and has made 93 appearances for the London club since, weighing in with 17 goals and six assists.

He played a crucial part in Scott Parker's side's promotion to the Premier League last season, his 25 Championship appearances yielded four goals and four assists.

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock wanted to sign the striker ahead of tonight's deadline to add some firepower to his attack.

However, Dijon appear to have beaten the Championship club to the forward.

Kamara has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage.
