Sources: Harrogate Town agree to sign Huddersfield star Austerfield
Huddersfield Town midfielder Josh Austerfield has agreed a deal to join Harrogate Town, Football Insider understands.
The Championship club rate Austerfield highly and believe he will benefit by going out on loan to get regular first-team football.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that terms are agreed between Huddersfield and League Two outfit Harrogate following extensive recent talks.
Huddersfield's website claims Austerfield is known for "impressive passing range" and "ever-improving defensive abilities".
The Leeds-born midfielder joined the Terriers aged eight and made his way through the ranks before securing a loan move to Brighouse Town in March 2020.
However, the move did not go as planned after the 20-year-old was sent off on his debut.
After impressing in the youth ranks, Austerfield travelled with Danny Cowley's First Team squad to a training camp in Dubai in November 2019.
He has since made two senior appearances for Huddersfield, his first coming on 5 September 2020, when he played as a substitute in the Terriers' EFL Cup defeat against Rochdale.
More recently, on 14 December 2020, Austerfield joined Northern Premier League club Hyde United on a 28-day loan spell.
Upon the confirmation of Austerfield's last loan, Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager, Emyr Humphreys told the club's website he wanted the midfielder to experience "increased exposure of the physicality of men’s football".
Harrogate currently sit 11th in League Two, four points away from the play-off spots.
However, the Sulphurites have lost their last three games in the division.
