Sources: In-demand West Brom player 'hell bent' on quitting the club

Nathan Ferguson is "hell bent" on quitting West Brom this summer after failing to seal a dream Premier League move, Football Insider understands.

The full-back, 19, was on the verge of joining Crystal Palace at the end of January until the transfer collapsed at the eleventh hour due to concerns over a knee injury.

A West Brom source has told Football Insider that relations between the club and Ferguson have reached rock bottom as a result of the fall-out of the failed deal.

The player's camp have made it clear he will not sign a new contract and is "hell bent" on leaving the Hawthorns.

Ferguson's current deal expires in the summer, when he can leave as a free agent.

He can move abroad for around £300,000 and there is interest from teams in Germany and Spain.

For interested Premier League clubs, who also include Tottenham, the teenager who has made such a big impact in this season's Championship would likely cost a compensation fee of around £4million.

That would mean a major financial hit for West Brom, who had agreed to sell Ferguson to Palace for £8m rising to a potential £11m.

He underwent a medical that showed up knee problems and the Londoners tried to renegotiate the fee with the Baggies but it could not be agreed.

The youngster has returned to the Championship leaders with his future up in the air and, tellingly, has not been in the squad for their last three matches.

That comes after West Brom raised eyebrows by playing him for 94 minutes at left-back in their 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City on 28 January while suffering with knee problems.

There is a strong suggestion that his injury may sideline him for the rest of the season.
