Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign West Ham rising star Amara Nallo, sources have told Football Insider.

The defender, 16, has been targeted by the Merseyside giants just months after signing a scholarship deal with the London club.

Discussions are well underway between the two clubs with Liverpool increasingly hopeful of securing an agreement before the window shuts.

Nallo, who is a left footed centre-back, would be able to sign professional terms from November, when he turns 17.

He was one of 12 academy talents to sign scholarship deals at West Ham in May this year, after appearing for the club’s Under-18s side.

He made two appearances for the Irons' youth team in the competition for a total of 73 minutes of playing time.

Former Hammers striker Carlton Cole, who is a coach with the Under-16s side, has been full of praise for the youngster.

As quoted by the Metro (31 July), Cole said he would describe Nallo as " a Rollys Royce of a centre-back".

The former England striker insisted Nallo has a high ceiling due to his abilities with both feet.

The Reds have already agreed a deal for fellow teenager Trey Nyoni who is close to making the switch from Leicester City to Anfield.

The midfielder has already confirmed his exit from Leicester, taking to Instagram to share his thanks to the club for helping his development over the years.

Nallo would link up with Nyoni as well as former Wolves youngster Harvey Owen who has also made the switch to Merseyside this summer.
