Luton Town have made a move to sign Birmingham City star Tahith Chong this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League new boys have contacted the Midlands outfit to enquire about the winger, 23.

It is believed that Luton are keen to sign Chong on a permanent deal as they look to strengthen their squad for top-flight football.

Chong has made a big impact at Birmingham after signing from Man United last summer following a successful loan spell.

He has a contract that runs until the summer of 2026.

The winger spent six years at Man United before his move to Birmingham.

Although much of that time was spent on loan, Chong made 16 appearances for United's first team, offering up two assists in those outings.

Chong made 41 appearances for Birmingham across all competitions this season and scored four goals and provided five assists in those outings.

The Netherlands youth international was a regular feature in John Eustace's side this season, starting 35 of the 38 Championship outings he was included in.

The club finished 17th in the English second tier and comfortably clear of the relegation zone.

At the other end of the table, Luton finished third and secured a place in the Premier League for the 2023-24 season via the play-offs.

The club are looking to strengthen in the attacking department as they prepare to make their mark on the English top flight next season.
