Newcastle United are closely monitoring Arsenal star Kieran Tierney, sources have told Football Insider.

The north-east giants are in the market for a new left-back this summer who can slot straight into their starting XI.

It is believed that Tierney, 25, is also on the radar of Newcastle as they assess potential left-back options.

The former Celtic star, who is valued around the £30million mark, is the second choice at league leaders Arsenal behind 2022 signing Aleksandr Zinchenko.

Despite Newcastle's interest in a left-back, they are also lining up new contract talks for current first-choice Dan Burn.

He is highly regarded by Eddie Howe and the coaching staff, with his versatility and experience valued highly at St James' Park.

Tierney has managed 16 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season, but mostly as a substitute.

The Scotland international has completed a full 90-minute league match just twice in 2022-23.

He was a regular starter for Mikel Arteta last season, but ended the season on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his knee.

Tierney is currently spending his fourth season in north London after joining Arsenal from Celtic for £25million in the summer of 2019.

He graduated from Celtic's academy in 2015 and made 170 senior appearances for the Scottish giants, scoring eight goals and supplying 37 assists.

Tierney ended his time north of the border with four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups - he later added the FA Cup to his trophy cabinet when he won the competition with Arsenal in 2020.
