Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Fulham are among the clubs eyeing a late-window move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the 24-year-old is also attracting interest from European clubs ahead of the 1 February deadline.

That is a U-turn on their original plan, which was to sell the defender permanently to boost their coffers - as any sale of the centre-back would be considered pure profit under Financial Fair Play rules.

Chalobah could now put himself in the shop window with a loan move away from Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea even willing to sanction a loan-to-buy deal for the academy product.

Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Fulham all have the space in their squad to bring in a loan signing from a fellow Premier League club before the 1 February deadline.

It is believed all three clubs are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements.

Chalobah is yet to appear in the 2023-24 campaign due to injury - and his lack of availability is believed to be the reason for the dearth of permanent interest in his services.

He suffered a serious hamstring injury in pre-season and a setback in October but is now on the comeback trail.

In any case, he will be low down the pecking order of Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge - with the Argentine rating the likes of Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile above him.
