Real Madrid are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer, Football Insider understands.

The Spurs record signing's future is up in the air once again going into the upcoming transfer window.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider the club have been approached by Real about Ndombele and aware of their strong interest.

Tottenham

The Londoners have not yet decided to listen to offers for the France international, 24, as that will depend on a number of factors including the identity of the new manager.

Spurs are holding talks with various candidates as they look to get the permanent successor to Jose Mourinho in place in the next few weeks.

Ndombele has been a regular starter for most of his second season in north London and has fared better than in a troubled debut campaign.

He has made 28 Premier League starts among 44 appearances in all competitions, which have yielded six goals and four assists.

However, the midfielder has been omitted from the starting XI for each of Spurs' last two matches, against Leeds United and Sheffield United.

Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso were both preferred in central roles, with Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg continuing as the midfield anchorman.

Were they to sell, Tottenham would look to recoup the initial £54million they spent on Ndombele in the summer of 2019.

Real are in the market for a dynamic, top level midfielder to eventually replace Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and company.
