Sheffield United star Jack Robinson faces up to three months out with a knee injury, sources have told Football Insider.

The centre-back, 28, missed Monday's Championship defeat to Watford in the Championship with the injury he picked up in training last weekend.

Robinson has undergone scans on his knee and they have shown he is facing up to three months out of action in a crushing blow for player and team.

As quoted by the Sheffield Star after the loss to Watford, Paul Heckingbottom revealed Robinson had collided with Sander Berge in training.

The Blades were also without new signing Anel Ahmedhodžić for the trip to Vicarage Road who was suspended and had also picked up a slight knock.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international should return for the visit of Millwall on Saturday (6 August).

They will be without Robinson who was a key member of the side that finished in the play-off places in 2021-22.

He played 32 appearances across all competitions last term, including both legs of the play-off semi-final defeat to his former side Nottingham Forest.

Robinson moved to Bramall Lane from Forest in January 2020 for a £1million fee and has now amassed 53 appearances across all competitions for Sheffield United, scoring three times and providing a further three assists.

The former England Under-21 international has less than 12 months to run on his contract in south Yorkshire.

After the game with Millwall, the Blades face Middlesborough, Sunderland, Luton Town and Reading in the Championship in August.
