Stockport County have agreed to sign Bolton Wanderers midfielder Antoni Sarcevic, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The National League outfit are putting the finishing touches to the capture of the 29-year-old.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Sarcevic is set to sign for Stockport in a permanent deal.

Non-league teams are able to complete transfers outside of the windows that apply to the English professional sides.

Sarcevic has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

Those outings have brought three goals and one assist with Bolton 11th in League One.

The midfielder has started 13 of Wanderers' 14 league games this season and regularly captained the side.

Stockport are 10th in the National League and are set to sign a player with plenty of non-league experience.

Sarcevic made 73 appearances for Chester between 2010 and 2013 as they navigated the Conference North.

This came after spending eight years with Manchester City's youth setup.

After leaving Chester, the midfielder spent the next 10 years playing in League One and League Two.

He played for sides such as Fleetwood, Shrewsbury and Plymouth before joining Bolton in 2020.

Last season, he lead Bolton to League Two promotion glory as his side secured a third-placed finish.

He scored eight goals and chipped in with five assists in 35 total outings.
