Tottenham are considering making a contract offer to former defender Kyle Walker-Peters after his Southampton exit, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (30 June) that Besiktas have entered the race for the Everton and West Ham target.

The Turkish giants are now ready to table a lucrative offer to Walker-Peters – who has an admirer in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sources say it is still an open race for the free agent, who came through the ranks at Tottenham before leaving in 2020.

He would prove a valuable addition at Spurs, who need home-grown players to satisfy the quotas for the Premier League and Champions League.

Djed Spence, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are among the first-choice full-back options for Tottenham at present.

Walker-Peters, who has amassed almost 150 appearances in the English top flight, can also play at both right-back and left-back.

The two-cap England international suffered an embarrassing relegation with Southampton last term, with the Saints picking up just 12 points from 38 Premier League games.

He will now have a choice to make as clubs across the Premier League and Besiktas vie to sign the free agent after his release from St Mary's Stadium.

Tottenham play hardball over Romero

Romero is a key man for new manager Thomas Frank and the Lilywhites are reluctant to lose him ahead of Champions League participation.

Sources say the Atletico Madrid target could push for a move away in a bid to get Tottenham to lower their asking price.
