Tottenham intend to push through the summer sale of Vincent Janssen despite his first-team recall this week, Football Insider understands.

The Holland international expressed his delight on his social media accounts after a brief cameo as a substitute in Tuesday's last-gasp Premier League win over Brighton.

It was Janssens's first Spurs appearance in nearly two years, with injuries to the likes of Harry Kane, Erik Lamela, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko paving the way for his return.

However, a source close to Tottenham has told Football Insider that Janssen's unexpected return to the first-team fold will be a short-lived one.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has given the green light for the club to listen to offers for the 24-year-old, who was signed from AZ Alkmaar for £18million three years ago.

Janssen spent last season on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahce, and wasn't even given a squad number when he returned to the club last summer.

An early-season foot injury helped put pay to Spurs' hopes of loaning out the Dutchman in this campaign, and he was then frozen out of the first-team squad until being named on the bench in the league defeat to Manchester City last weekend.
