Two US clubs and Dundee are battling to sign Rangers attacker Kai Kennedy this month, sources have told Football Insider.

The Light Blues have given the green light for the attacker, 20, to leave on a permanent deal before the January window shuts.

It is believed that American clubs Tampa Bay Mutiny and Memphis 901 have registered their interest in Kennedy along with Scottish second-tier outfit Dundee.

They are racing to land the youngster, who is currently on loan at Falkirk and likely to be recalled.

Kennedy has slipped down the pecking order at Rangers after once being scouted by West Ham as well as being hailed "fabulous" by ex-manager Steven Gerrard.

He has made just one senior appearance for the Ibrox club - a nine-minute substitute cameo against Stranraer in 2020.

At third-tier Falkirk this season, Kennedy has registered two goals and seven assists.

He made headlines after notching four assists in one game as the Stirlingshire side beat Wick Academy 6-0 in the SFA Cup.

Away from Rangers, Kennedy has also had limited success in loan spells at Raith Rovers, Dunfermline, Hamilton, and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The youngster primarily plies his trade as a left-winger, but can also play on the right flank and in attacking midfield.
