Wolves have agreed a long-term loan deal with MLS side Colorado Rapids for striker Joe Mason, Football Insider sources understand.
Colorado have reached agreement on a 12-month loan deal with Championship leaders Wolves for Mason with the move subject to the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international obtaining a visa.
New Rapids coach Anthony Hudson has made signing a new striker one of his top priorities before the start of the new Major League Soccer and he has moved to bring in the forward from the Midlands giants.
Mason is well down the pecking order at Wolves and they are happy to loan him out as he does not figure in Nuno Espirito Santo's plans at Molineux.
The 26-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Burton Albion, scoring one goal in six appearances for the Brewers before returning to Wolves last month.
Colorado have already been busy recruiting players ahead of the new season, with UK proving to be a market that they have used to strengthen their squad.
They have already brought in Danny Wilson from Rangers, Tommy Smith from Ipswich Town and Jack Price from Wolves this year and they are now on the verge of landing Mason.
In other Leeds United news, Paul Robinson drools over the one player at Molineux who has blown him away this season.
