Stefan Borson: This is the most likely scenario for Vinicius after Liverpool latest

Vinicius Junior has been linked with a move to Liverpool following the uncertainty around his future at Real Madrid.

Football Insider revealed on 27 November Chelsea and Manchester City are the frontrunners to sign Vinicius. 

It is believed Vinicius has also attracted interest from Liverpool as they consider strengthening their attacking options again. 

The Brazil international is currently stalling on contract talks with Real Madrid, where his deal expires in June 2027. 

However, Real Madrid remain confident of agreeing a deal with Vinicius to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

Vinicius deal 'too expensive' for Liverpool

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Vinicius is likely to remain at Real Madrid as any deal would be “too expensive” for the interested parties.

Liverpool could have to pay £150million to sign Vinicius after he’s proven himself to be one of the best players in the world over the past few years. 

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I just don't see where he fits at any Premier League club. Attitude wise, needing to play every single game with certainty. 

“It's just not the sort of thing that the Premier League teams like to buy. They recognise they've got big squads. 

“They just can't be bothered with that stuff. I don't think his first destination would be the Premier League.” 

Vinicius signed for Real Madrid in 2017 in a £38m deal from Brazilian side Flamengo when he was just 16 years old. 

Vinicius could agree Saudi deal after Real Madrid issues

Vinicius has recently faced issues with Xabi Alonso, who joined Real Madrid as manager from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer. 

However, Borson believes the 25-year-old is likely to remain at the Bernabeu unless he’s willing to move to Saudi Arabia. 

“You obviously think about PSG, but PSG seem to have gone in a different direction,” said Borson. 

“I think it would be a step back for them to say, ‘Well, we'll go for Vinicius’, so I think he'll stay. I just can't see any other way around it. 

“It's just too expensive, except for Saudi Arabia. I think Saudi is probably not a bad shout, but surely he doesn't want to go to Saudi Arabia.” 

Vinicius has emerged as an important player for Real Madrid over the past few years, with the winger registering 111 goals and 90 assists in 341 appearances for the Spanish giants.
