An alternative league table has been released - and it may show the secret to Liverpool's early success this season.

The table reveals that Jurgen Klopp's men have run over 10km more than any other side in this season's Premier League.

The Reds started their season in a thrilling 4-3 away win against Arsenal at The Emirates, in a game which saw them cover a massive 117km, a new record under Klopp.

Klopp's players have continued to cover more distance than any other team in their subsequent four matches.

Liverpool sit 5th in the Premier League, level on points with both Chelsea and Arsenal.

A 2-0 defeat to Burnley on the second weekend of the season brought Klopp's men back down to earth, but following a draw against Tottenham and two impressive wins against Leicester and Chelsea, talk has begun of the possibility of the title heading to Anfield.

The Reds sit at 11/2 with SkyBet for the Premier League crown, as they pose the biggest threat to Manchester City, who are heavy favourites at 8/13 under new boss Pep Guardiola.

Klopp has been criticised in past for working his teams too hard, contributing to long-term injuries at Borussia Dortmund in long title-fights with Bayern Munich.
