Thomas Frank has been extremely cut-throat when making decisions on his players' futures during the summer transfer window.

James Maddison picked up a new injury during pre-season, joining Dejan Kulusevski on the treatment table, leaving the new manager with no choice but to dive into the transfer market.

Daniel Levy has now stepped down as Tottenham chairman, clearly leaving the Lilywhites with a leaving present by splashing several million ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Before the window slammed shut, Spurs brought in Randal Kolo Muani and Xavi Simons, with Joao Palhinha, Mohammed Kudus, and Mathys Tel arriving earlier in the window, but it could be an outgoing that Frank begins to regret.

Thomas Frank to regret Manor Solomon's move to Villarreal

Manor Solomon sealed a deadline-day move to La Liga giants Villarreal on a season-long loan, having spent last season with Leeds United in the Championship, where he notched 23 goal contributions.

It had been revealed shortly after his return to North London earlier this summer that Frank intended to give the 26-year-old a chance to prove himself instead of being loaned straight back out.

That does not look to have worked out for the Israeli international, though. He barely featured during pre-season, even despite Son Heung-min's emotional departure to LAFC.

Now, the winger has sealed a move to Spain for the 2025/26 campaign, but that decision may already come back to bite Frank following his performance on the international stage.

Manor Solomon stars for Israel in romping World Cup qualifier

Solomon, who Daniel Farke dubbed "outstanding" during his time at Elland Road [LeedsUnitedNews], played a key role as Israel demolished Moldova 4-0 in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, 5 September.

He assisted the opening goal after just 15 minutes before scoring a goal of his own 20 minutes later to put his side in cruise control at the Zimbru Stadium.

The Spurs loanee clearly has plenty of talent, showing fight at both ends of the pitch, and his departure this summer seems like it could be one that his parent club come to regret over the campaign.

Injuries have already built up for Frank and his backroom staff, but without the winger's services to fall back on, some might be calling for the club to recall him in January.
