PL wonderkid going under the radar: Three players Pulis must sign for Rangers if hired as manager
COMMENT
Tony Pulis is reportedly interested in taking up the Ranger vacancy and with January on the horizon, the Welshman may be able to pull off some business if Dave King frees him up some funds to spend.
The Mirror has reported that Pulis, 59, is gaining a lot of support among the Ibrox chiefs to become the permanent successor to Pedro Caixinha and the ex-West Brom boss has been talking highly of the Glasgow club in a recent interview.
Pulis was sacked by the Baggies in November after a dreadful start to the Premier League season and it is understood that he will now take a break over the festive period.
Rangers have been on the hunt for a new manager since axing Caixinha in October and their failed pursuit of Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes came to an abrupt end recently, leaving Graeme Murty in interim charge until at least the start of January.
It's not clear whether the Light Blues have made an effort to bring in the unemployed Pulis, but if he was thinking about the Ibrox job then he would no doubt be casting his mind over potential January targets for next month.
Here, Football Insider looks at three of Pulis' former players who he must try to sign in the upcoming transfer window if hired by the Glasgow giants.

Charlie Adam
Adam is Rangers through and through and it would be a massive signing if Pulis would be able to bring his former Stoke player back to Ibrox in the future.
The 32-year-old midfielder is no doubt past his best but he is still someone who could walk into the Gers first-team and embarrass players like Carlos Pena and Josh Windass with his drive, passion and work-ethic.
Rangers need some extra bodies in midfield now that Graham Dorrans is out for three months and Adam would be the perfect replacement to his fellow Scot.
Also, Adam is out of contract at the end of the season, so there could be a cut-price deal in the offing for someone who was one of Pulis' most reliable players in the Potteries.

Sam Field
Field is going completely under the radar at West Brom at the minute and isn't getting anywhere near the praise that he deserves from the media.
The 19-year-old wonderkid has done absolute wonders with the Baggies ever since Pulis handed him his professional debut last season.
He has made seven appearances across all competitions this season and even scored his first goal against Newcastle in the Premier League in November.
However under Alan Pardew, Field has struggled to get a starting place and West Brom may be willing to loan out the England youth international in January for him to get more experience.
Rangers would be the perfect place for him to hone his playmaking skills, much like Emerson Hyndman did last term when he shone in the second half of the campaign.

Hal Robson-Kanu
Pulis signed Robson-Kanu at West Brom on a free transfer in 2016 after his heroics helped Wales earn a spot in the semi-finals of the European Championships.
He has struggled to get in the first-team since moving to the Hawthorns but could really become a great attacking player in the Scottish Premiership if Pulis wants to reunite with the former Reading player.
Robson-Kanu, 28, is in the peak of his career but is perhaps playing slightly above his level in the Premier League so it would perhaps interest him to make a move to Scotland to prove that his career highlight wasn't just a 'Cruyff Turn' against Belgium.
Rangers could do with some extra firepower and physicality in attack and that is something Pulis would want to address straight away if he was hired at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, Jim Duffy has urged the Gers to appoint this 59-year-old as soon as possible.
