Todd Boehly cannot ignore Enzo Maresca's transfer plea as Chelsea boss drops 'difficult' admission
Enzo Maresca appears to have made a desperate cry for January transfers despite Chelsea's involvement in the Premier League title race.
Right now, Arsenal remain favourites to win the league, with Man City, Aston Villa, and the Blues chasing narrowly behind, but the manager clearly feels there is more work to be done.
Chelsea have been without Cole Palmer for the majority of the campaign, and the same goes for Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia, and Dario Essugo, with several niggles in between.
That is not to say that the Blues didn't spend appropriately during the summer, with Estevao emerging as one of Chelsea's best signings, and Liam Delap and Joao Pedro battling it out up front.
Chelsea are likely preparing for the January transfer window
Despite a lot of improvements, there are still areas of weakness which can be addressed during the January transfer window, and the manager clearly has his eyes set on certain areas of the market.
Speaking to Football Insider, Keith Wyness believes that Chelsea are "addicted" to buying players, and Maresca's comments might have been a cry to the hierarchy for more support ahead of next month.
He has refused to explain the "worst 48 hours" rant, spreading rumours about his future at Stamford Bridge, but the Italian is adamant that he is going absolutely nowhere.
With Newcastle United up next in the Premier League, the manager has been speaking glowingly about the opposition, and it might be worth Todd Boehly keeping his ears open, with the boss' happiness in mind.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he said: "Sandro Tonali, [Bruno] Guimaraes, Joelinton, [Lewis] Miley, they are all fantastic players, international players. They complete each other.
"They are physically strong and good on the ball. They are 100% complete, perfect. It's difficult for any team to face them," which could come across as a huge cry for transfers ahead of next month.
With the Club World Cup title in the bag, plus Champions League football and a Premier League title race, there is no reason why the manager should not be backed.
The Blues' attack is possibly where he is being let down, despite the heavy spending during the summer, and a big-money move next month could be on the cards to keep Maresca happy in West London.
