Paul Robinson has claimed "it is very important" Antonio Conte is seen to be "enjoying himself" at Tottenham amid links to the manager's job at Juventus.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one urged the club to continue to match Conte's "ambition" in the transfer market.

According to Italian outlet ilBiancoNero (19 September), Juventus are interested in bringing Conte back to Turin to replace struggling manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Tottenham

However, as quoted by Sky Sports (30 September), Conte rubbished the idea that he is interested in joining the Italian giants.

The ex-Chelsea boss called the reports "incredible" and "disrespectful" and insisted he is happy in north London.

His contract runs until the end of June 2023.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: "There is always going to be speculation around his future.

"He will always have clubs chasing him until Tottenham are consistently finishing in the top two or three and winning trophies. He will always be linked to the big jobs.

"If he is happy at Spurs and signs a new deal it is all well and good in the short term.

"However, we know how unpredictable he is. People thought he might walk out after the Burnley game last year. A contract does not mean a lot.

"It is very important that Conte is seen to be enjoying himself. He is part of something that is going in the right direction. If his ambition is continually matched it will be a lot easier to keep him."
