Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Tottenham striker Harry Kane for his "incredible" goalscoring feats.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England number one said the 29-year-old would have scored "even more" had he completed a move to Man City.

Kane became Tottenham's all-time leading scorer after bagging the winner against Man City on Sunday (5 February).

As shown by club media (5 February), the centre-forward was congratulated by his manager via a phone call post-match.

Antonio Conte was unable to attend the game because of medical reasons.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to Kane's achievement, Robinson said: "I got criticism for saying that his stats are incredible given that he has been in a team that has underachieved.

"If you put him in Man City's team over the past five years he would have scored even more. Look at what [Erling] Haaland has scored this year. I have no doubt that Kane would have done as well if he was in that team.

"To break Jimmy Greaves' record is incredible. What Kane has done is rare. His record may never be broken.

"There was a time 18 months ago where he wanted to go to Man City so to score the record-breaking goal against them is fitting. If he had done it the week before at Preston it may not have been the same.

"That record will not be beating in my lifetime."
