Now, the Lilywhites have emerged as contenders to sign Gray and it is believed that Liverpool are still eager for his services.

The 2006-born star has been a standout for Daniel Farke's promotion-chasing Leeds this season having started 38 games in all competitions.

The teen was recently called up for England's under-21 squad for their Euro qualifying campaign and bagged a goal against Azerbaijan and an assist against Luxembourg during the international break.
