Skipper Hugo Lloris is set to end doubts over his future and remain at Tottenham next season, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The goalkeeper's future has been up in the air going into the summer window, when he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

But a Tottenham source has told Football Insider that Lloris, 34, is planning to extend his time at the club to at least 10 years and possibly longer.

He has held talks over his future with club chairman Daniel Levy and has expressed his willingness to stay on under the new manager.

The France World Cup winner and holder of 123 international caps is held in high esteem at the north Londoners, where he has been club captain and virtual untouchable for almost a decade.

Lloris has come under criticism from Spurs supporters in recent seasons and many claim he is on a subtle but steady decline.

But Tottenham do not want to lose such an experienced and proven performer, who has great influence in the dressing room and behind the scenes.

Keeping hold of him to at least the end of his contract will be a major blow to Lloris' suitors.

Tottenham have been linked with a new number one, including West Brom's Sam Johnstone.

But Lloris is now expected to remain at the club where he has started all 36 Premier League matches this season and has 371 appearances in total.
