Tottenham failed to return to winning ways with a 1-1 draw against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Heung-min Son spared Spurs' blushed to earn a point after Christian Kabasele headed the Hornets into the lead.

Davinson Sanchez was sent off in the second half as Spurs' dreadful run of form continued at a team with the worst defensive record at home in the Premier League.

Watford marched into an early lead when Kabasele headed in a Tom Cleverley corner, beating Harry Kane in the air to glance the ball past Hugo Lloris.

A swift counter-attacking move got Spurs back in the game, seconds after the hosts appealed for a penalty when Ben Davies knocked down Richarlison in the six-yard box.

Christian Eriksen swept the ball across to Son, who had plenty of space to tap the ball into the Hornets net.

Sanchez was sent off after the break for elbowing Richarlison as Mauricio Pochettino's men saw their rotten run without a win extended to four league games.

Hugo Lloris - 6

Lloris was barely tested by the Watford attack that really should have done a lot better after Sanchez was sent off.

The France goalkeeper couldn't really have done anything to stop Kabasele's goal.

He put Ben Davies under a lot of pressure at one point with an ill-thought pass that could have ended much worse.

Kieran Trippier - 6

Trippier was perhaps handed the toughest task on Saturday in keeping Richarlison quiet at Vicarage Road - something which he did, to a degree.

The Brazilian forward has been in sensational form but was neutralised most of time by Trippier's pace.

Going forward, Trippier's passing was decent but his crossing left a lot to be desired and needs to be improved.

Davinson Sanchez - 3

Sanchez didn't look to most confidence of defenders against Watford and it's clear how much Tottenham are missing Toby Alderweireld.

The Colombia international has all the pace and the physical attributes, but just wasn't winning his aerial duels against Watford's attackers.

He thoroughly deserved his red card when he elbowed Richarlison in the second half. The centre-back glanced at the Watford attacker before lifted his arm up to his face after the ball had gone.

With Alderweireld out and first-team mainstay Sanchez looking to have a three-game ban, there are desperate times ahead for Tottenham.

Jan Vertonghen - 6

Vertonghen did a decent enough job at stopping the Watford attack but it was still a worrying show from the experienced Belgian who has not been so convincing in his more recent outings.

The lack of Alderweireld has really exposed some flaw in the Spurs defence and that could force Pochettino into trying to sign players to pad out the area in January.

It's just not going right at the moment for Spurs and it seems that the ex-Ajax ace's form is a big part of them leaking goals.

Ben Davies - 5

Davies did not have a very good game for Spurs and should really be dropped from the first-team when Danny Rose returns to full fitness.

The Wales international was constantly caught out and there was a heart-in-mouth moment when he brought down Richarlison in the box.

The left-back was decent going forward but when playing with a back-four as oppose to using three centre-backs, Davies needs to show a lot more defensively.

Eric Dier - 6

Dier's range of passing was decent and he has certainly had worse games for Spurs.

But overall he was short of the required level to see out games like this.

Watford have a good attacking squad but they had way too much time on the ball.

Players like Dier should have done more to close them down quick, win back the ball and move it on to Dembele. But that simply was not happening.

Mousa Dembele - 6

Dembele played way too deep against Watford, even though Dier was basically playing within an arms' reach of the back-line.

The Belgium international doesn't look completely fit either and one would think that Harry Winks would be starting if he hadn't suffered an illness this week.

Winks has the ability to find the likes of Dele Alli and Eriksen in the right spaces. The Englishman also gets forward a bit more and exerts more pressure on the defending sides.

Dembele wasn't doing that was a bit of a letdown.

Heung-min Son - 7

Son looked like the only player capable of causing problems for the Watford defence in the first-half and was rewarded with a fine goal.

He got the yard of the Hornets backline to latch on to Eriksen's low cross.

The South Korea international continued to trouble Watford but like everyone else, he didn't have his best game by any means.

Dele Alli - 5

Alli is still yet to reach the heights of last season and has been way too inconsistent.

From pulling the strings against Real Madrid to be becoming anonymous against Watford. Is Alli just a player who shines on the big occasions when all eyes are on him?

The England international was weak in possession on Saturday and really didn't do enough to feed Son and Harry Kane with the chances.

Christian Eriksen - 6

Eriksen had to get back quite a bit more than he would have no doubt hoped against Watford and is so weak when having to win the ball back off the bigger players.

At the other end of the pitch, it wasn't much different.

Bar his assist for Son, the Denmark international's passing wasn't great and nor were his set-pieces.

Eriksen is really off the boil at the moment but his assist for Son will gloss over that fact.

Harry Kane - 6

Kane had a chance early on to put Spurs ahead but failed to get the ball into the back of the net.

Things didn't get better for Kane in the first-half when he lost the aerial duel to Kabasele at a corner to see Watford open the scoring.

After that Kane disappeared. He wasn't helped by an underperforming midfield behind him but he needs to be playing much better than this if people want to keep dubbing him as world-class.

Replaced Eriksen in the 64th minute but really failed to show any considerable quality on the ball.

Erik Lamela - 6

The Argentine came on for Son in the 77th minute.

Harry Winks - 6

If he could have, Pochettino should have really started Winks, who came off the bench for Alli in the 86th minute.
