Tottenham are keeping tabs on Marcus Edwards’ situation as Crystal Palace ready an offer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 25-year-old is open to a Premier League return this summer despite having two years left on his Sporting Lisbon contract.

The Eagles are in the market for a right-winger following Michael Olise’s move to Bayern Munich, which is a position where Edwards has thrived in Portugal.

However, Spurs could be a rival to Palace’s attempted transfer as the club have asked to be kept informed about Edwards.

Tottenham have not yet made a formal move, but sources say they are monitoring the situation.

Spurs have already successfully hijacked one transfer this summer as they signed Archie Gray from Leeds United.

The central midfielder was set to join Brentford until Tottenham made a late bid, and the club are keeping a close eye on Edwards’ situation to potentially do the same.

Tottenham see Marcus Edwards as a potential fix to their attacking issue

Ange Postecoglou is in the market to improve his attacking options ahead of the new season after the club failed to replace Harry Kane last summer.

Edwards contributed six goals and nine assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for Sporting Lisbon last season, being a regular in the side.

The winger also has a history with Spurs, beginning his career at the club and remaining with them from 2006 until 2015.

Edwards didn’t make any first-team appearances for Tottenham, but he did play 28 times for the Under23s team.

Another player that Spurs are keeping an eye on is Lille forward Jonathan David.
