Tottenham striker Shayon Harrison has revealed how he plans to use his January move to Yeovil to kickstart his professional career.

The teenager, 19, joined the League Two club from the Premier League giants at the end of the transfer window after agreeing a loan switch for the remainder of the season.

Harrison has made four appearances for Yeovil, one start in the in EFL Trophy and three substitute appearances in the league.

The Spurs academy product is yet to open his account for his temporary employers but is targeting his first league start in Saturday's home clash against Leyton Orient.

Harrison is keen to use the loan spell at Yeovil to gain important first-team experience against senior professionals away from youth-team football.

“(Getting) experience is one of my main objectives," said Harrison to the official Yeovil website. "It’s completely different to Under-23 football, it’s men’s football now and a better experience for me and something I need.
“A lot of Spurs players have come through this system and gone on to play at a top, top level so hopefully I can continue to do that as well.
“I want to follow in their footsteps and get to the top level if I can.”
Harrison is the latest in a line of players who have gone on loan to Yeovil from Tottenham, following England internationals Ryan Mason, Steven Caulker and Andros Townsend.

The teenage forward has made only one appearance for the senior Spurs side, a late substitute appearance in the club's 2-1 League Cup defeat at Liverpool in late October.

Harrison has been a regular member of Spurs' development side, scoring 16 goals in 30 Premier League 2 matches in the last two seasons.
