Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold took to social media to celebrate after missing out on their 4-0 League win over Tottenham on Wednesday (Thursday 6) through injury.

The 26-year-old picked up a thigh injury in Liverpool's 2-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth, forcing him out of contention for the second leg against Tottenham.

Conor Bradley took his place, providing the assist for Dominik Szoboszlai's goal, celebrating his fine performance after being earmarked as a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold.

Football Insider revealed (February 4) that despite ongoing links with Real Madrid, Alexander-Arnold is yet to make a decision on his future at the club.

Goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Szoboszlai, and Virgil van Dijk secured a second-leg comeback win for Liverpool against Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes Liverpool defender Van Dijk could have seen red for an incident with Richarlison earlier in the game.

The England international has been key for Arne Slot despite his contract uncertainty, starting 28 of their 31 games across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing seven assists in his 2291 minutes of action.

Alexander-Arnold took to Instagram to show his support for his teammate after their comeback aggregate win over Tottenham.

Slot's attention will turn from the League Cup to the FA Cup as they prepare for a trip to Championship side Plymouth on Sunday (February 9).
