Chelsea fans want the club to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace amid their defensive injury crisis.

The 25-year-old is currently in the midst of a season-long loan at Selhurst Park after being deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea by Enzo Maresca.

However, the Blues are considering recalling him in the January transfer window according to Simon Johnson of The Athletic.

There is a break clause in the loan deal and he is being considered as an option to cope with the injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, which have left Chelsea stretched at the back.

Chalobah had been sent to the bomb squad during the summer where he trained with the academy after it was made clear that Maresca didn’t have plans for him.

The central defender has gone on to become a regular at Palace, having played in 12 Premier League games this season where he’s notched three goals.

Chelsea are considering bringing Trevoh Chalobah back to Stamford Bridge

Chalobah has made 80 appearances for his boyhood club throughout his career, having played for Chelsea since the age of eight.

The report about his potential return to Stamford Bridge has been met positively by fans who have urged the club to bring him back.

Fans have claimed Chalobah “should never have left” while others stated that he would help “raise our level defensively.”
