West Ham are in crisis behind the scenes and their valuation is set to fall if they are relegated from the Premier League.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Tara Warren stepped down from her position at West Ham.

Warren was seen as an ally of West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady, who is also under pressure to resign from her position at the club.

West Ham fans have been protesting against the board this season, and their 3-0 defeat at Wolves makes it likely that the club will be playing in the Championship next season.

West Ham problems continue to grow

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs - thinks West Ham are in "real trouble."

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes the club may have a tough time getting out of the Championship, if they are relegated.

He told Football Insider's Inside Track podcast: “It does show the turmoil behind the scenes. At a time when you need a stable board, we're seeing resignation.

"So again, another bad sign. And yes, they're in real trouble. From talking about West Ham with a valuation, you know, over a billion is what [David] Sullivan was hinting at before, to now seeing them, you know, going to be valued around Championship level is going to be quite a fall.

"So we'll have to see what happens. And also this squad going into the Championship, you've got to worry.”

Contenders named amid West Ham manager latest

The West Ham board may be looking for a new manager following their defeat at Wolves, which leaves them in the Premier League relegation zone.

West Ham fans have called for Nuno Espirito Santo to be sacked, after losing to a side which had not won a Premier League game all season.

Kieran McKenna and Slaven Bilic have been named as contenders for the West Ham job, should Nuno depart the London Stadium.
