Ivan Toney's price tag has been slashed by Brentford in a major boost to West Ham and his other suitors in the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.

The Bees star, 28, remains in high demand despite his recent suspension and poor form in the 2023-24 campaign.

It is believed Toney's slump in front of goal, which has seen him fail to score in his last nine games, will not affect his price tag further going into the summer.

Brentford had initially hoped to bank £70million after selling the striker, who will enter the final year of his contract in June.

However, his contract situation means interested clubs were never likely to stump up a top-level fee for the England international - who could bring other sides into the hunt with a good display at Euro 2024.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also keen on the Brentford star, who has hit four goals in 14 Premier League appearances this term.

Arsenal will not be launching a move for the 28-year-old - with Football Insider revealing on 16 March that they are set to scrap their long-term interest.

Nevertheless, it is believed Brentford are still planning to bank a healthy figure after selling Toney and are not expecting reduced interest in his services this summer.

He has managed 36 goals and 10 assists in 82 Premier League games with the Bees after helping them to promotion from the Championship in the 2020-21 campaign.
