Winks tipped to quit Tottenham in January after news from Italy - pundit
Noel Whelan has tipped Harry Winks to quit Tottenham in January if Corentin Tolisso is signed.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker admitted "things have taken a turn" for the 25-year-old English midfielder.
As reported by Calcio Mercato (28th October), managing director Fabio Paratici has opened preliminary talks with Tolisso's representatives over a potential move to Spurs.
The France international, 27, is out of contract next summer.
As such, he could sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign club in January.
German publication Bild claim Bayern would be open to a cut-price deal during the winter window to ensure they do not lose him on a free.
Tolisso's arrival would likely see Winks fall further down the pecking order.
As revealed by Football Insider this summer, the England midfielder was in talks over a Premier League move but ultimately remained in north London.
However, Whelan suggested Tolisso's arrival could see Winks finally leave Spurs.
Whelan told Football Insider's Russell Edge: "Would that mean an exit for Harry Winks? A way out of the club? Possibly.
"If another midfielder comes in then January is going to be busy in that midfield area for Tottenham with Dele Alli, Harry Winks and a new one coming in.
"Winks is still a great footballer, still a good edge and with the best football in front of him. Things have taken a bit of a turn for Harry.
"It's probably not the direction that he thought he was going to be going in when he first burst onto the same."
