Yves Bissouma shares celebratory Tottenham message that fans will love

Thomas Frank is yet to decide whether his new-look Tottenham Hotspur side will feature Yves Bissouma next season.

Tottenham's transfer strategy is taking shape as Frank prepares for his first season in charge, and their friendly against Reading on 19 July saw one new signing score on his debut in the form of Luka Vuskovic.

Vuskovic's switch from Hajduk Split to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was agreed back in September 2023, but Frank has bolstered his squad with deals for Kota Takai and Mohammed Kudus this summer.

Kudus already looks set to form a partnership with Pedro Porro down the right-hand side after his arrival in a £55million move from West Ham, but the full make-up of Frank's midfield is still to be determined.

Bissouma makes message clear as Tottenham weigh up transfer

Spurs are yet to bring in a central midfielder this summer other than Leeds United academy talent Max McFadden, leaving Frank with Bissouma, Pape Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.

Key injuries saw the latter duo thrust into the spotlight last season, and their emergence could potentially leave Bentancur and Bissouma on the fringes as speculation grows over their long-term Spurs futures.

Bissouma and Bentancur both played the full 90 minutes of Tottenham's Europa League Final success against Man United on 21 May, and Spurs marked two months since that match in a post on Instagram.

Tottenham's post was shared by Bissouma on his own story (21 July), and the Mali midfielder added a 'medal' and 'trophy' emoji to alongside an image of himself holding the trophy with Son Heung-min in a message that fans will love.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 10 July that Tottenham will be open to accepting offers for Bissouma this summer, particularly as his contract enters its final 12 months.

Juventus have emerged as a potential destination for Bissouma with a cut-price deal on the cards, but it remains to be seen how Frank sees the Malian fitting into his new-look midfield setup in North London.

Bissouma may have struggled to replicate his Brighton form at Spurs and it's no surprise that Tottenham are willing to entertain offers for the midfielder, but Frank will be under no illusions that such a departure would necessitate a potentially costly upgrade.
